Before using your new test(s) you should make sure to store a backup copy of each test in a safe place and change the control mode password. With this done, it is recommended that all GTS test documents be stored in a "Tests" folder where students can find it easily, such as on the desktop. Since students don't need access to the GTS application it can be tucked away someplace safe such as the System Folder. Although students can launch the GTS application and then select "Open…" from the File menu and navigate to the folder containing the appropriate test, this seems unnecessarily complicated, especially for younger students.
Storing the GTS applications and test documents in this manner will also make things much easier if you are using a number of GTS testing modules since double-clicking on a test document will always open the appropriate GTS testing application.
With setup complete, students need simply open the test folder and double-click the test document assigned by the instructor. GTS will launch and automatically open the selected test to the sign-in window displaying the test's name and instructions.
You may have noticed that GTS documents do not have the standard page-shaped, dog-eared document icon; the whole idea behind this is to make the test document more "double-clickable". If GTS's icon show up as generic application/document icons you probably need to rebuild your desktop file. To do this, restart your Mac while holding down the Command and Option keys until a dialog appears asking you to confirm the rebuild.
